Bailey Mathis, 28, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away at her home on September 17, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and joy. Funeral arrangements are pending, and her family looks forward to gathering with friends and loved ones soon to celebrate her life.

Bailey was born on April 29, 1997, in West Point, Nebraska, the daughter of Brenda Mathis. She grew up in Wisner, where she attended Wisner-Pilger Schools and graduated in 2015. During her school years, Bailey’s energy and spirit were impossible to miss. She was active in sports, a proud member of the dance and cheer teams, and a friend to many. She built friendships that carried into adulthood, always valuing the people closest to her.

Following high school, Bailey attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she pursued studies in the medical field. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a role that allowed her natural compassion to shine. Her dedication eventually led her to Methodist Hospital, where she gained experience across several departments. Bailey later fulfilled her dream of working at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, serving in the Hematology and Oncology Departments. Known for her professionalism, warmth, and empathy, she made a lasting difference in the lives of patients and families facing difficult challenges.

Bailey lived her life with joy and passion. She loved attending Husker football games, going to concerts, and spending time with friends, often dancing and singing karaoke. Her vibrant personality and bright smile lit up every room, and her laughter had the power to lift spirits. She embraced every moment fully and encouraged those around her to do the same.

She is survived by her loving mother, Brenda Mathis; her sisters, Hayden and Jocelyn; her brothers, Jonathan, Jordan, and Jace; and her grandparents, Patty and Allen Hanson and Doug Chudomelka. She also leaves behind extended family, a wide circle of friends, and her beloved dog, Poppy, who was her constant companion.

Bailey’s passing is an immeasurable loss, but her memory will continue to inspire love, resilience, and kindness in all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her commitment to helping others but also for the joy and light she brought to every aspect of her life.
